My Life Has Order Again

For those of you who know me well, you understand that I have to have things in a certain order and that disorder makes me uncomfortable. For the past few weeks our life has been up in the air. Jamey's job was in limbo and we had no clue what we were going to do once the job wrapped up here. As you can imagine, I have been a little anxious as to what the future holds for us.

This week, Jamey spoke to his boss and found out that his job here will be in effect until December. This has given me great comfort. We now had a few more months to figure out what to do. Seeing as the Border Patrol option didn't work out for us, we had to come up with a new plan. Jamey began looking into Seasonal Law Enforcement programs. These programs are generally 9-15 weeks long and once he completes the course, he can work for many federal agency during the summer season as a Law Enforcement Officer. He is looking into two different programs. The first is in Mt. Vernon, Washington and lasts for 15 weeks. The other is in Rangely, Colorado and is a 9 week program. We're leaning more toward the Rangely program.

After he is out of the program, he's going to be applying for a job at Priest Lake, Idaho. He would be doing much the same thing as he doing now, but he'd be working for the Forest Service and he'd be a commissioned officer so he could write tickets and such. He's really excited about this!

Hopefully, everything will work out for us. I'll keep you updated.

Addy update!

Addy seems to love being naked. Her favorite time of the day is bath time. She loves it when I get her ready for the bath and now that she can roll over, she loves it even more.

Last week I tried out the ponytail on Addison. She doesn't have too much hair, but it's just enough for a tiny little pony tail on the top of her head. I think that it is so adorable!

She also started whining this week. We are not excited about that. She throws a mini tantrum when she drops one of her toys. They are always within her reach, but she whines until you give it back to her. It's not cute. We're also still working on the thumb sucking. She is starting to do it a lot now and is getting sneaky about it. Sometimes while I'm feeding her I take the bottle out and there her thumb is in her mouth. What are we going to do with her??!!

4 Months Old

Today Addison had her 4 month checkup. She is 16.2 pounds and is 26.5 inches long. She is getting so big. I thought that she was really chubby, but the doctor said that she is actually really skinny for her height. She is above the 100th percentile for her age in height.

Memories

I saw this on my friend Martha's page and thought it would be so fun!
1. Leave a comment on my blog of a favorite memory of you and I together. Whether we know each other a little or a lot, just anything you remember.
2. Then, do this same post on your blog and see the fun memories that people leave about you. If you leave a memory on my comments, I will go back to your blog and write a memory about you. Fun stuff!

Addy's Adventures

Yesterday, Jamey and I decided that instead of riding our bikes, we should take Addison on a hike. She is now big enough to ride in the back pack that we bought for her. She probably has been for quite a while, but I decided to try it out yesterday. She seemed to enjoy the hike. She looked around at everything. We hiked up the mountain (I guess you could call it that) behind out house. By Colorado standards, this is an ant hill, but here in Washington it's a mountain. It's about 2700 feet in elevation, which is about 2000 feet lower than where Jamey and I grew up, but considering that our house is only at about 1500 feet, it's pretty steep. Addy liked to look around
at the trees and pretty flowers, and had to keep an eye on CC. Whenever CC got out of her view, she would look arounnd for her until she found her and then she'd just stare. In the few months that we've been here, they have become great friends. We are now going to make this hike a daily ritual. If I'd have know that she liked it so much I would have been hiking with her everyday. She hates to ride in snugli front pack, so I never even thought about trying her in the back pack. Maybe when we get back to Colorado, we can take her on a real mountain hike!

I snapped this picture of Addy this morning laying on my bed. She was chewing on her bee, which is her favorite toy. It plays "twinkle twinkle little star" and lights up. She plays with it so much that it's wings are coming off (thanks Ang, she loves it). I thought it was cute that she had her foot up on her knee, just kicked back and quite content.

What a Weasel!

So Jamey managed to get his test date moved to the 18th. I'm not sure how he did it and he claims to know nothing about why the test date was moved up, but I know it's because he didn't want to have to see Addy in pain from her shots. Also, it looks like we will be back in Colorado as soon as Jamey's internship wraps up. Depending on which job (if either) he gets. We might be moving straight to Fairplay if he gets that job, or we might be taking a pit stop in Colorado City at my parents before moving on to New Mexico. If he gets the Border Patrol job, I will be staying at my parents while he's in the academy. This excites me because I'll get a chance to catch up with everyone at home. It's a little sad because Jamey and I will be away from each other for 5 months. It's only a 7 hour drive though, so we'll make due!

More later.. and pictures of his demonstration will be coming soon!

Jamey's Demonstration

Last Saturday Addy and I went to watch Jamey's Historic Weapons Demonstration. It was actually a very interesting program. We learned about the history of Fort Spokane and then watched Jamey shoot the historic guns and the Mountain Howitzer (canon). It was really loud, but I put cotton balls in Addy's ears and then covered them with my hands and she didn't even jump. It was pretty fun to see Jamey in action at work.

We have completed the applications for the Forest Service and the Border Patrol. It will probably be a few months before we hear anything from the Border Patrol, but hopefully we will hear from the Forest Service sometime at the end of this month. Jamey has to take a written test for the Border Patrol to get the whole process going. His test date isn't until the 25th of this month, so we still have a while to go. We are also looking into other possibilities to get us back into Colorado in October when his internship is over.

Addison is rolling everywhere and can scoot pretty much wherever she wants. She can also stand with support. Her little legs are getting so strong. She gets her 4 month shots on the 18th, and I'm not looking forward to that. I made the appointment on Jamey's day off, so he can come with me this time and I don't have to be the bad parent again. Addison also started doing something else new today... she sucked her thumb for the first time. We are not excited about this at all, and Jamey is already trying to break her of the habit. We were so happy to learn that she wouldn't take a pacifier and didn't suck her thumb. She sometimes chews on her hand, but I wasn't worried about that. I'm worried about what will happen when her teeth come in if she keeps it up. We'll continue to work on breaking this habit.
