Dear Family and Friends,
Greeting from Lake Powell! We have had an exciting and fantastic 2010 and hope you have as well. The year began with lots of decisions to be made. We were enjoying being together FINALLY and excited about what the future held for our family. Stephanie was busy working retail and Jamey and Addy were enjoying catching up and spending time with each other.
In early May, we made the big move to Page, Arizona. Jamey returned to Glen Canyon National Recreation Area for his second season as a Law Enforcement Ranger. His job entailed patrolling Lake Powell by boat. He enjoyed educating park visitors on boating rules and regulations and doing back country patrols to monitor the parks cultural resource areas. He is excited to go back on patrol in the Dangling Rope District next spring and for the new challenges he will experience as a Ranger at Saguarro National Park this winter.
Stephanie began a job as an emergency dispatcher within the Recreation Area. Her job was to monitor the park’s law enforcement, maintenance and air craft. It was a very fun and challenging job. Stephanie fell in love with this job, and in late-September, was offered a full-time permanent dispatch position. She feels very blessed for this opportunity and grateful to have a job that provides stability and full benefits (including health insurance). What a relief!
Addison had the hardest time when we moved. She was very sad to leave her friend Ammon, and constantly asked when we could go to the zoo with Ammon. She started going to a babysitter on a regular basis for the first time, and it was harder on Mommy than it was on her. She soon became fast friends with, her babysitter’s daughter, Lucy. She had an exciting summer, and it was a great relief to Mommy. They took weekly trips to the library, swimming pool and lake. Addy is such a smart cookie. She is doing great learning her letters and numbers. She can recognize her letters and tell you what sound each letter makes.
This summer, we took every opportunity we had to explore this beautiful region we live in. We are surrounded by National Parks and enjoyed taking day trips to go hiking. We also spent as much time as we could at the beach.
As the year comes to an end, we are enjoying the time we have (short as it may be) to spend as a family.
We hope that you have been as blessed this year as we have.
Merry Christmas!
With Love,
The Brazell’s
